Executive Director Announcement from Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing Incorporated

The board of directors of Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing Incorporated (Sacajawea) is pleased to announce the appointment of Miranda Rappazzo to the position of Executive Director, as of May 28, 2024.

Prior to joining Sacajawea Miranda spent 10 years in the financial sector, working in commercial banking and fundraising-donation philanthropy. Miranda joined Sacajawea in 2019 as the Executive Assistant and in 2022 she was promoted into the Program Manager position and formally began succession plan training with Melanee McAulay, Executive Director as Melanee had made her intentions to retire known. Miranda is looking forward to moving Sacajawea into its next chapter of providing safe, affordable housing for the urban Indigenous community in Hamilton through achieving the goals and objectives in the organization’s Strategic Plan in partnership with the Board of Directors.

It is with a heavy heart that we also announce that as of May 27, 2024 Melanee McAulay has decided to step down from her position as Executive Director. Melanee oversaw growth, expansion and housing renewal during her 32-year tenure and her many gifts and contributions to the corporation will be missed. We wish Melanee well in her next chapter!
