Our Team

Our case manager, Lisa Pottruff, provides outreach to vulnerable Indigenous families and individuals, crisis intervention, one-on-one supports, advocating, educating, conflict resolution, facilitating social interactions and community integration, and linking with other appropriate community services.

Our Mission

Sacajawea aims to help tenants be better prepared to address the challenges that surround living situations. This in turn can reduce the frequency of eviction and allow tenants to remain in one place and create a home where they feel comfortable and will be able to succeed.

Our Services

Sacajawea Support Staff offer workshops and one-on-one supports that are designed to successfully help tenants not only retain residence, but to strengthen Indigenous self-identity, build community and support healing. Holistic supports are based on individual tenant needs which may include traditional teachings, basic life skills, financial literacy, education and employment support, with a strong focus on health and wellness.

Monthly workshops are offered in a central location that all tenants can easily access. If required, additional sessions can be added to meet tenant needs. The workshop environment is safe and inviting and offers relevant information to new and existing tenants. In addition to the program sessions, tenants are connected to opportunities to engage in traditional teachings to help them feel connected to cultural traditions and practices while living away from home territories.
